He's Home!!

Guess who's together again!! Literally. the best ever is being with my husband again after 4 long months. Many people think we are annoying but we literally do EVERYTHING together so this was very hard for us. In 9 years we have deployed together and we've managed to do all our training together so far in the military. When we decided for me to commission, we knew this day was coming, but we never realized it would be so hard. I was able to visit him in San Antonio, Texas for a month, which I loved! That's where our love flourished and we grew our lives together. San Antonio will always have a special part in our heart.  Now we're in Florida, which so far is definitely different but we are enjoying it. The humidity is REAL here and the storms are no joke. This pregnant lady had to go for a walk after dinner and we were trying to go to the beach. Well, we were there for 5 seconds and we and 2 weddings got rained out! I felt so bad for the weddings. We waited out the stor...

Workout from home essentials!

Image
What's normal these days? Well for me not going to the gym is my new normal. One...because I moved from Michigan to Florida and have NO idea where anything is. Two, because ....I'm just trying to limit my exposure to the vid. So I thought I would get together a couple of things I use at home to still get in a good workout. The awesome thing is they are all from Amazon too! The pictures are linked! First is the water bottle...if you know me at all I love my water bottles, especially if they tell me what to do! This one is awesome and comes in blue, gray and pink.  https://amzn.to/2ZtEz08 Next, is the collagen, this stuff was approved for me to take by my OB.. please make sure if you are pregnant to check with your doctor before consuming anything I recommend!! I use this in my protein drinks. Collagen is great for joints, skin, hair, and overall health! This one doesn't have a taste and doesn't clump up like some I've tried. https://amzn.to/3fwPqMA This next one is o...

MOVING....AGAIN!!

Image
Living Simply by  Heather Leigh Many of you know Nick and I have moved quite a bit in the last five years...let's do a little recap, shall we?   Before                                                                                After 1st house! Good ol' St. Clair. This was one of my favorite towns to live in! It was our very first house together with so many memories. We made a few upgrades in it, fixed the pool in the back but sold it because of a job! Wanted to be closer to work so we moved! Then I graduated from nursing school and applied for a job in Port Huron. This was the house that we bought that was right on the Black River. Before After This was our next house! Loved this house too, right on the river, again we upgraded this house as...

Living Simply by Heather Leigh  I've already rewritten this post multiple times. That's because I don't want to upset someone or offend them. But here we are.. more than likely someone won't agree with me...and that is fine, want to know why??? Because we live in the land of the free, where freedom of speech is YOUR right as well as MINE! So here is my freedom of speech. I agree with peaceful protesting. I don't agree with hateful crimes, violence, and looting. I understand you are upset. I don't know where you are coming from because I haven't been there. I know I've been taught not to care what color your skin is, that you and I, we put our pants on the same regardless of what position you are in and what position I am in. I will not misuse my power, my rank, my knowledge to hurt someone intentionally. Those who do SHOULD BE PUNISHED and HELD ACCOUNTABLE! I find that to be the hardest thing. I do think white privilege is a ...

2020 is going to be the year!

Living Simply by  Heather Leigh 2020 is going to be the YEAR! WOW!!....Just wow..right? 2020 is nuts so far, especially for Nick and me. I've been a little MIA lately and my first excuse is honestly NP school. Last semester, thank goodness. If I wasn't working, I was doing clinical and if I wasn't doing either I was enjoying family time. This summer will be my last semester of NP school and then I will be graduating as a Family Nurse Practioner. So excited guys! So just to catch everyone up on how our year is going so far, we found out two exciting things at the beginning the first was Nick was selected to become a Respiratory Therapist for the military. This was super exciting news, the not so exciting news was he only had a month before he left for two years. WHAT??? I mean that's the military for you. So we did what we knew best...ADAPT.  We had a celebratory dinner with our families and unfortunatley this was the only one we captur...

Refinished furniture

Alrighty sooo I don't have a full BEFORE picture ... but this thing was a pain in the butt! In the end it looks amazing though....so I started staining it with a grey I though I liked and well I didn't so I had to start from scratch....I resanded every little nook and cranny  And I finally found a product I liked!.... This is called cape cod gray...I put in on with a a thick brush and small strokes,  And this is what the garage looked like..needless to say nick was pleased I was finally done and excited and stain was EVERYWHERE... side note always put down a protectent for the floor (rooky mistake). Then my amazing husband helped me put on all the hardware afterwards The table went from a regular table to an ottoman type table because we wanted to be able to store blankets and stuff in without trying to stuff it in those tiny doors, plus the cabinets are deep and it was just an easier option for us.  Finished pr...
