9/11

There are not so many words to say about 9/11/2001. I remember exactly where I was ...do you? 9.11.2001 I remember I was getting ready for my pictures. I was actually practicing how to straighten my hair with an iron because SHOCK straighteners weren't a thing just yet. I remember I was coming down the stairs to get breakfast and my mom screamed. She screamed and that was all. She didn't say much else. I was dropped off at my friends house like it was just another day at high school and off to school we went. As the day progressed, non of the teachers taught a thing, pretty sureI watched more television this day than any other day. The day got sadder...we all walked around and started crying about all the unknowns, unknown if people were okay, unknown of what would become of our country, unknown of what tomorrow would bring. Fast forward 20 years later..., 9.11.2021 it's unfortunate. I'm truly at a loss of words. These last few weeks we have been trying to get out of A

Birthing Story

BIRTHING STORY                                                  What a whirl wind this was. So let’s start from the beginning. This is a long one just a heads up. ...Little man was due Oct 31st... Halloween! This was exciting! We weren’t telling anyone the name yet until he was born because of a couple different reasons. But one being so we wouldn’t change our mind (because we both are so indecisive) and two so we wouldn’t have others opinions. (b/c it’s already hard enough as it is) When we found out I was pregnant it was the same week we found out that Nick was getting reassigned to become a respiratory therapist and leaving for Texas in less than a month. So yay!! (Sarcasm)  I ended up taking a pregnancy test because we were going to a friends house for a going away get together for Nick ...and I was thinking... we are going to probably be drinking...Heavily...aaannnd I’m late...but I’ve been late every othe

Hospital Bag!

Well our bags are packed and we are ready when ever this little guy is! It's 38 weeks and I've changed what I've packed about 20 times, but I think I've nailed it at this point. We only live like 15 mins from the actual hospital and once little man is born Nick can always come back home and get what we need if anything.  I only planned for like 3 days at the most, keep in mind EVERY hospital is different with what they will and won't supply you with, especially dependent on insurance too. So ALWAYS check with your OB and hospital prior. Diaper bag So first up let's talk baby items. My hospital provides the following: Diapers, t-shirt, blankets, hat, socks, pacifier, swaddles, and formula. Almost everything you need for a baby to go home with. What i'm bringing.  Clothes: 2-3 Newborn outfits 2-3 --0-3 outfits Only because we don't know how big he will be and what he will and won't fit into. Accessories: 2-3 swaddles 2 pairs of socks Newborn and siz

He's Home!!

Guess who's together again!! Literally. the best ever is being with my husband again after 4 long months. Many people think we are annoying but we literally do EVERYTHING together so this was very hard for us. In 9 years we have deployed together and we've managed to do all our training together so far in the military. When we decided for me to commission, we knew this day was coming, but we never realized it would be so hard. I was able to visit him in San Antonio, Texas for a month, which I loved! That's where our love flourished and we grew our lives together. San Antonio will always have a special part in our heart.  Now we're in Florida, which so far is definitely different but we are enjoying it. The humidity is REAL here and the storms are no joke. This pregnant lady had to go for a walk after dinner and we were trying to go to the beach. Well, we were there for 5 seconds and we and 2 weddings got rained out! I felt so bad for the weddings. We waited out the stor

Workout from home essentials!

What's normal these days? Well for me not going to the gym is my new normal. One...because I moved from Michigan to Florida and have NO idea where anything is. Two, because ....I'm just trying to limit my exposure to the vid. So I thought I would get together a couple of things I use at home to still get in a good workout. The awesome thing is they are all from Amazon too! The pictures are linked! First is the water bottle...if you know me at all I love my water bottles, especially if they tell me what to do! This one is awesome and comes in blue, gray and pink.  https://amzn.to/2ZtEz08 Next, is the collagen, this stuff was approved for me to take by my OB.. please make sure if you are pregnant to check with your doctor before consuming anything I recommend!! I use this in my protein drinks. Collagen is great for joints, skin, hair, and overall health! This one doesn't have a taste and doesn't clump up like some I've tried. https://amzn.to/3fwPqMA This next one is o

MOVING....AGAIN!!

Image
Living Simply by  Heather Leigh Many of you know Nick and I have moved quite a bit in the last five years...let's do a little recap, shall we?   Before                                                                                After 1st house! Good ol' St. Clair. This was one of my favorite towns to live in! It was our very first house together with so many memories. We made a few upgrades in it, fixed the pool in the back but sold it because of a job! Wanted to be closer to work so we moved! Then I graduated from nursing school and applied for a job in Port Huron. This was the house that we bought that was right on the Black River. Before After This was our next house! Loved this house too, right on the river, again we upgraded this house as well, but truth be told I will never own a house that doesn't have A/C AGAIN! Who does that?? Apparently, that's very common!?!? This California girl did not get that.... well out to the country for us we went!  10 acres later.
