Refinished furniture

Image
Alrighty sooo I don't have a full BEFORE picture ... but this thing was a pain in the butt! In the end it looks amazing though....so I started staining it with a grey I though I liked and well I didn't so I had to start from scratch....I resanded every little nook and cranny  And I finally found a product I liked!.... This is called cape cod gray...I put in on with a a thick brush and small strokes,  And this is what the garage looked like..needless to say nick was pleased I was finally done and excited and stain was EVERYWHERE... side note always put down a protectent for the floor (rooky mistake). Then my amazing husband helped me put on all the hardware afterwards The table went from a regular table to an ottoman type table because we wanted to be able to store blankets and stuff in without trying to stuff it in those tiny doors, plus the cabinets are deep and it was just an easier option for us.  Finished pr...

Sorry for lags on the posting...had kind of a hectic slash relaxing weekend. So Thursday Nick had to come home from work after being SICK...and I mean sick...I felt so bad for him, I was working all day and the future nurse kicked in I stopped at the store and grabbed all the amazing things my mama picked up for me when I was sick.... ginger ale, gatorade, saltines, and soup...right there..all you need!  Wanna know how I know I'm going to be a good nurse??? It worked... I cured him! LOL ....or that bug ran it's course.... lol So we made the best of the weekend without being too far from home so just in case I caught what he had or his body decided to have SIKE JK moment. Was it 90 degrees where you were??? Saturday was soon freaking hot! We went to the beach and tried to lay out ...that lasted maybe an hour....the water was too cold to get into.. and it was way too hot to lay out typical Michigan.  LOL Soo we decided to go on a drive where we cou...

Everything happens for a reason!

This is something I truely believe...even if I don't see it at first.  I know it's hard to always stay positive during such tragic situations but I've been through enough trials so far to know that even though all those challenges brought heartache or despair after a time of seeing the whole picture something good always comes out of it.  Unfortunately we were witness to this recently... After two not easy years (a roof needing to be replaced, a tree falling down on our backyard, two car accidents, a broken hand, a loss of a loved one, an injury to another loved one and loss of a dog) and many other small incidents we decided to sell a piece of something that gave us such pride and joy to redo and refurnish and make our own that it was time for us to move closer to work.  This would help us put all that negativity behind us!  We found a beautiful condo that was a perfect price, perfect location, perfect size! So close to closing on both properties and somethi...

Shakeology Review

Image
Alrighty you guys! I've found my favorite way to drink Shakeology or at least this one. I personally got the Caffe Latte.  This one I've seen alot on friends pages and was intrigued.  Anyone who knows me KNOWS I NEED my coffee.  Otherwise I'm not such a pleasent person! Now, the first time I drank this I tried what people said to do mix it in a shaker with some water..... YUCK!! Idk what your taste buds are like but mine did not like that one bit! GROSS.  It wasn't chunky or anything just so bland tasting!  Sooo they send a sheet of recipes,  These all look good right?? See i'm so plain...it's not for me personally.  I love fruit, I love oatmeal but not in my shake that doesn't sound appetizing to me.  So I went with good ol faithful.  How I make my coffee accept no sugar needed.  If I must say, that is the healthiest coffee I've ever had. If you want any info for some shakeology let me know! They have some packs available fo...

Hope everyone had a nice and safe Memorial Weekend! Nick and I did a little exploring.... I'm a California girl born and raised and I met my amazing fun loving Michigan man to show me to a wonderful state that has so much to offer in hidden areas! Stoney Creek was our first adventure ^^Picture above  We got alot of our cardio in this day we walked everywhere until I started getting eaten alive by the mosquito's... Then we headed to Birmingham where I had this delicious crab cake with avocado and tomato, see eating out can still be fun and healthy! Then we stopped off for a little fun wine tasting at our favorite spot Michigan by the Bottle! The staff is always so friendly when we go there...not too often because we gotta stick to our diet a little... ;) Day 2 started with a good workout in the morning and we had an early lunch! Love sushi! we try to stay away from the fried stuff and only order a few rolls and share them. Day 3 We took the pup p...

Today was an eventful day! Went to the doctor today with hubby.  We got our first primary care doctors estbalished since the military.  It's kind of nerve racking I'm sure because you basically have to tell them whatever has been wrong with you along with whatever is wrong with you.  Thankfully we are pretty healthy.  Found out today we are doing a great job at staying that way. Our family history isn't the best, we've both got heart disease in the family gene's as well as high cholesterol, cancer, diabetes, and obesity.  Unfortunately we can't change gene's right?? Well nothing is more important than preventative health care I truely believe that.  Thats part of the reason why I'm becoming a nurse to help teach the community about it! I've worked in an ER for 6 years and so many of the people that walk in those doors could have prevented. We checked out perfectly! She said and I quote " whatever your doing keep doing!"  Must be doing...
