Hope everyone had a nice and safe Memorial Weekend! Nick and I did a little exploring.... I'm a California girl born and raised and I met my amazing fun loving Michigan man to show me to a wonderful state that has so much to offer in hidden areas! Stoney Creek was our first adventure ^^Picture above  We got alot of our cardio in this day we walked everywhere until I started getting eaten alive by the mosquito's... Then we headed to Birmingham where I had this delicious crab cake with avocado and tomato, see eating out can still be fun and healthy! Then we stopped off for a little fun wine tasting at our favorite spot Michigan by the Bottle! The staff is always so friendly when we go there...not too often because we gotta stick to our diet a little... ;) Day 2 started with a good workout in the morning and we had an early lunch! Love sushi! we try to stay away from the fried stuff and only order a few rolls and share them. Day 3 We took the pup p...

Today was an eventful day! Went to the doctor today with hubby.  We got our first primary care doctors estbalished since the military.  It's kind of nerve racking I'm sure because you basically have to tell them whatever has been wrong with you along with whatever is wrong with you.  Thankfully we are pretty healthy.  Found out today we are doing a great job at staying that way. Our family history isn't the best, we've both got heart disease in the family gene's as well as high cholesterol, cancer, diabetes, and obesity.  Unfortunately we can't change gene's right?? Well nothing is more important than preventative health care I truely believe that.  Thats part of the reason why I'm becoming a nurse to help teach the community about it! I've worked in an ER for 6 years and so many of the people that walk in those doors could have prevented. We checked out perfectly! She said and I quote " whatever your doing keep doing!"  Must be doing...

It's going down fo real....

Does anyone know the song I'm referring too?? I totally got excited today when I walked in from work today and found the shakeology box on the counter top! Nick saw my face and instantly I did the happy dance. Boom! It's seriously going down! This is the beginning of a whole new me! Anyone who knows me knows my story but if you don't know me well here's a little back round.  A while ago, about 6 years to be exact I joined the United States Air Force, since then my life's made sense.  I met the love of my life, found my passion for caring for people, and found the career of my dreams. The military has done so much for me and when I found out this came out! I was like ahhhh gotta have it baby! I'm also in nursing school.  1 year down baby!  That's been it's own stressor on it's own and probably the reason I went from 108lb to 115lb.  I'm 5'1 and that shows even just a little on such a small frame. Plus I just feel sluggish an...

Start the week off right!

So it's never too late to start healthy right? Monday is always our new start to the diet days. That's half the battle of getting fit, what you put in your body and portion control! Tonights dinner, tilapia with terrayki sauce on top of tabuleh with some home grown asparagus.  And a heart healthy class of wine! Can't forget the wine...duh.  I don't pretend to be a master chef...not going to lie this was my first home cooked meal for quite sometime.  Usually Nick cooks and he IS the chef.  There were no major injuries during the making of this meal only minor...yes I did burn my hand.  Like I said I'm a work in progress.

New adventures!

Hey All! I'm starting a new venture this year! Lots of new things going on for me and my husband already! 1st year of nursing school down! So excited my passion for helping people and saving lives and well underway! This new venture is a perfect opportunity to help doing so with the battle of obesity.  Today I signed up to be a new Beachbody Coach! Pretty excited.  Not everyone knows but I struggled with weight for a while before I joined the Airforce. Pretty sure it was my eating habits one year my metabolism basically stopped. I've always been small and petite and exercised but usually ate whatever I wanted.  Not the best of ideas.  I went from 105lbs to almost 150lbs. This was not just unhealthy but it was depressing and I just kept eating all the time.  I literally tried everything! I went to the Dr. because I thought something HAD to be wrong with me.  I had all the tests done and everything was clean.  So I worked out I ate hardly anything ...
